BRC encourages congress to take up cannabis legislation

In the last eight months, there has been a flurry of legislative activity aimed at reducing barriers for marijuana research, as well as increasing access to marijuana treatment for our nation’s veterans:

  • Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL-1) introduced the Medical Cannabis Research Act in January of 2019.

  • Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Representative Blumenauer (D-OR-3) introduced the Responsibility Address the Marijuana Policy Gap Act in February 2019.

  • Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Brian Schatz (D-HI) introduced the Cannabidiol and Marijuana Research Expansion Act in June of 2019.

  • Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR-3) and Andy Harris (R-MD-1) introduced the Medical Marijuana Research Act in July of 2019.

  • Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA-6) introduced the VA Survey of Cannabis Use Act in May of 2019.
